JOYFUL GRATITUDE #207
On the last day of 2020, I took a long solo walk in the Amsterdamse Bos. It was a calm sunny morning and I wanted to be outside and feel the cold air on my cheeks as I reflected about the crazy year that was coming to an end. The path I chose to walk down was a bit muddy at the start which I guess discouraged other walkers and so I was alone nearly the whole time, accompanied just by birds singing and fluttering from branch to branch. As I strolled along slowly, it turned out to be a treasure trove of gorgeous winter details. I especially fell in love with this beautiful purple colour – also to be found on the photo on my last post. I will never tire of the unexpected colourful details to be found in the forest and the joy of observing nature as it moves through the seasons.

Sounds like you had a lovely walk. Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature increases pleasant feelings and that’s why I make sure to go for a walk every single day. Thanks for sharing and have a good weekend. Aiva 🙂

Yes, it was lovely. It’s great to go for daily walks. It has definitely kept me sane through these months of social distancing and confinement. Today we got a tiny bit of snow ❤ Take good care and enjoy your walks!! 🙂

This is really lovely. There are such surprising bits of life and color even in the dead of winter, if we just take the time to look closely. I’ve also been noting how beautiful the “dead” foliage is in the woods these days. I hope I can see a purple bud too 😀

Thanks a lot for dropping by! Yes, I used to find winter a sad time for photography because there is less light. But in the last years, I’ve embraced that constraint and had fun with low light and looking for gems like these purple buds! I hope you find treasures on your walks, ‘dead’ foliage is very captivating indeed:-) Take good care!
