A while back, Elisa sent me this photo of her Christmas Cactus and Jade looking great in their cosy new habitat! 
I heard that the Christmas Cactus has since been partially decapitated in an unfortunate hula-hooping incident – but luckily it is recovering quickly and still growing strong!

Outside it was windy and grey this afternoon, so I stayed in and had a lot of fun making this free infographic about how to take care of your Aloe Vera plant. It even includes a few fun facts! Enjoy it and let me know if I should add anything.
I’m super happy to see these two plants in their lovely new home. They’ve upgraded to an apartment with a canal view and live music! Not bad;)

Recently I came across two great documentaries and an episode from one of my favorite podcasts which revolve around plants. I find myself thinking back to these stories regularly, the ideas are like seeds that need to spread, so I thought I’d share some links.
Documentaries:
The Salt of the Earth – about the life of incredible photographer Sebastiao Salgado, and the foundation he and his wife set up to combat deforestation and erosion in Brazil by planting native trees and creating an education center (read more about Instituto Terra)
Seeds of permaculture – beautiful and inspiring documentary about permaculture, and what impact a holistic approach to growing our own food can have.
Podcast:
The surprising story about a writer who gets the dream job of taking care of a wonderful garden. (Strangers is a podcast about true (and often incredibly moving) stories that link total strangers. It makes for amazing listening!)

During the Christmas holidays, my sister and I took a large pile of old magazines one afternoon and sat down to make some collages. We had a nice chat while we browsed through the magazines snipping away at all the pictures we liked, then combining and gluing them into our own collages.
I hadn’t really set out with any specific theme in mind, but when I realised that I had cut out a lot of plants and succulents in different set-ups, I decided to create this mood board to use as inspiration for Cultivating Joy this year.
Merel came by this week to pick up a Jade plant and was so kind to send me some pictures of her happy Jade in its cosy new home:)
Friday I had a quiet day off work and could spend the morning transfering the baby plants into new pots. I will let them acclimatise for a few weeks and then they will be ready for new homes. I love the new colours below.
